Workplace-messaging app Slack is reportedly in talks with salesforce to get acquired. Due to pandemics, Slack is facing stiff competition from rivals like Microsoft’s Team and Zoom. The majority of people are preferring Microsoft’s Team, Google Duo, and Zoom to connect with their team members.
Post the news, Slack’s shares were up nearly 24% at $36.95 per share valuing it at around $20.8 billion. But shares of Salesforce fall three percent.
Salesforce is a cloud-based software company that specializes in offering technology that helps businesses to communicate with clients. The experts believe that the acquisition will help both companies to cross-sell each others’ products. Slack is one of the fastest-growing startups in the world.
When can they announce about the slack acquisition deal
If the deal will get successful then the company could make the announcement before the quarterly earning of December 9. We also tried to connect with both companies but we are still awaiting a response from both companies. We will update you as soon as we hear from them.
Other acquisition from past
In past, Salesforce made some other acquisitions as well. In 2018, it acquired Muelsoft for around $6.5 million (~Rs. 47 crores) and in 2019, a data visualization tool Tableau for $15.7 billion (~Rs.1,15,900 crores).
